Paul Schatz and the Principle of Inversion

In 1929, the sculptor, inventor and researcher Paul Schatz discovered the invertibility of the cube and thus uncovered the forms of the oloid and the cuboids. Schatz’s life was shaped by this fundamentally new geometry, for which he sought and found groundbreaking applications over decades. In addition to the technical sciences and research, the oloid also serves as a source of inspiration for architecture.

As President of the Paul Schatz Foundation, Tobias Langscheid is the guardian of the discoveries and work of the pioneer Paul Schatz. With information events, exhibitions, guided tours, workshops and publications, he keeps his outstanding importance for society and the environment alive.
