The Wolf’s Tooth, the Lynx’s Claw

The alpine blessing is a shepherd’s prayer with which herdsmen invoke God, Mary, and the saints for protection from danger during the alpine summer. All living creatures on an alp, body and soul, possessions and goods, are thus entrusted to a higher care. As a chant with few notes, the call is reminiscent of the Gregorian chant of the Roman Catholic Church.

Kornelia Bruggmann, who sings passionately, anything that is possible with the human voice, has been familiar with legendary songs and the Alpine blessing for many years. She can also tell you a thing or two about them. Sung in the forest or over the vastness of the landscape, the haunting vocal sounds and songs seem even more magical. Kornelia loves to be out and about singing „on sturgeon“. Those who walk along with her are welcome to join in the chorus – but they don’t have to!
