The World Ethic Forum, in close collaboration with Nile Journeys, held its 2026 public event at the Nairobi National Museum, Kenya, on July 4, 2026.
This collaboration weaved the World Ethic Forum’s global community of firekeepers with Nile Journeys’ long-standing work across the Nile Bioregion, where ecological regeneration, cultural renewal, and community-led leadership are practised in daily life, honouring the diverse contexts. It reflects a shared commitment to grounding global conversations and learning in local realities and their respective applications.
The public event unfolded under the theme Regenerative Impulses, connecting our stories of bioregional aliveness, understood as the living forces that restore, reconnect, and renew life across ecological, social, cultural, and economic systems.
This day created space to explore Regenerative Impulses across four interconnected spheres: cultural, social, ecological, and economic. Through parallel workshops, dialogues, and thematic labs (some of which were offered by our Firekeepers), participants engaged with people and organisations who are actively working on, contributing towards, researching, studying, and practising regeneration.
Local initiatives, marginalised voices, and lived experience were centred throughout the day. Firekeepers were present both as participants and contributors and offered their perspectives and embodied knowledge, supporting intergenerational, cross-sector and cultural exchange.
