Perception Walk

We learn to read and perceive the landscape with other senses in dialogue with Raimund Rodewald and Otto Scharmer.

The aliveness of the landscape and its vibrancy is part of the atmosphere of a place. It is revealed to us on „perception walks“, as conceived by the architects Kevin Lynch and the urban researcher Anke Rees. This methodology allows the subjective, communicable recording of aesthetic spatial qualities without lapsing into judgements. For the first time, this atmospheric approach is now being transferred from the urban situation to the alpine cultural and natural landscapes. To feel and think in atmospheres calls for a correspondence of the „I with the Thou“, entirely in the sense of Martin Buber, or as Jean Gebser put it: „One must always mature towards each another.“

We will start at Plazza Rondo, take the train and walk to Morteratsch.

Please bring clothes suitable for the weather and sturdy shoes and, if possible, something to write on.
